DomoN has tested the new release on the following config:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.66 GHz
VGA: Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family

In a windowed 640x480 display mode it seemed playable, between 18-40 FPS, mostly around 20 FPS moving in the denser parts.

The default config I included in the release is with view distance 20, single grass with 10 grass distance, wind animations on. I like the results. :)

I justed ran this release on my Xubuntu 7.10 box, with an Intel E6300 and Geforce 7300GT. Don't know the exact value, but I think the FPS was around 70, with peaks on 200 in the cave and lows with 40 on the outside with bounding boxes turned on. I ran it with the default settings on 800x60 in 24bit windowed mode.

Thanks for reporting!

I've tested it again with another machine:

8800GTS + AMD64x2 4800+ 150 (forest) - 570 (cave) FPS with unmodified configuration (view distance 20) 1024x768 windowed.
