Back from hibernation: updating to fresh Ardor3D repo and lwjgl 2.5

Yeah, long time no 'buzz' here. I was preparing to release a unified version of latest release's patched version, maybe I will do that now that ardor3d and lwjgl are updated in SVN. A lot of changes in the Ardor3D repository, but luckily with a few really slight changes in my code jClassicRPG is alive and kicking with 'em. :) Soon to start planning and researching the dialog/quest/trade system which is the last major missing 'part' of the game to call it alpha. Ain't that cool news? It might be for those folks who would be ready for the innovated classic multi character party adventure jcrpg will aim to provide. ;P

I can't get it to work :( throws some exceptions, installed the libraries lwgl and jogl but nothing =/

Which OS, which release? Is it SVN? You dont need to install lwjgl, it's bundled.

Currently in Kubuntu 10.10, downloaded the zip (around 161mb) and ran the shell script file to launch the game, it creates the window and black background but closes fast.

you have a log written out in your game directory under logs, so please check that. What video card / video driver are you using?

I just noticed the logs are not generating, there are some logs from 2010. I got this just yesterday.

My video card is Intel GMA 945, supports 3d and all that stuff since I play games on my windows, unless I got a crappy video driver installed in kubuntu maybe...

Is there an email or contact us to leave you my email or something to send you terminal output

Sorry, sad fact is, Intel's driver doesnt work with jcrpg, look here link.
Same problem happens on Windows driver too, but you can give it a try if they corrected something under Windows. Game was running till around 2009's end with intel, but they put in some new 'assert' code parts and that faults, crashes with jcrpg. Well, if you have windows you could try that, jcrpg is lin/mac/win compatible generally...

sorry for late answer,

You know, the thing here is that it says "class not found exception", the jogl library never loads at all, i dont think this is part of intel gma error, sorry if I'm being persistent but the same class not found happened in windows too

anyway thanks for the support :) btw I'm also interested in game development, is there a wiki about where to start learning when reading your code? (as in which file to open etc etc)
